Obtaining a grant of probate can be complicated, and you will need to complete a number of forms from the probate registry. For example, an application form PA1 will need to be completed.
Inheritance Tax
Estates up to £325,000 are free from Inheritance Tax. However, the form IHT205 still needs to be completed. If there is Inheritance Tax to pay, then form IHT400 needs to be completed.

How long does a grant of probate take?
The time it takes for a grant of probate to be issued and the estate to be settled completely depends on many factors.
